Fuel Filter

Why is it important?

Fuel filters collect dust and impurities in the gas tank before they reach your fuel pump, ensuring that pure gasoline is all that reaches your engine.

What we inspect

While sometimes the condition of a fuel filter can be diagnosed with a visual inspection, in other cases, our technicians may have to disconnect the fuel line from the filter to discern whether it’s clogged or not.

When should you Replace a Fuel Filter?

It’s slightly harder to determine when a fuel filter should be replaced. Older vehicles should consider having it done every two years, or 30 000 miles, while newer vehicles can run much longer. Our mechanics can do a fuel pressure test to ensure that it’s an appropriate time to replace your fuel filter.

*The mechanics of Archie’s Brake & Quick Lube are committed to treating your vehicle like family, which is why all maintenance schedules and service intervals will follow Manufacturer’s Recommendations, where applicable.
